Enjoy the good life boating along the Fjord Coast in the summertime. Thousands of islands make the journey along most of the coastline sheltered. There are many marinas within short distances, and they will welcome you as their guest. You will also find many natural harbours when that’s more tempting. You can look forward to active days, exploring the Fjord Coast. In the evening we recommend you to visit the restaurants along the coast for a good local meal.
The thousands of islands in Gulen, Solund, Bulandet and Værlandet are perfect for kayak paddling. If you like hiking, you can experience some of Norway’s most spectacular hikes. Climb mount Alden (481 masl) in Askvoll – also known as the Norwegian Horse. Hike Europe’s highest Seacliff, Hornelen which rises 860 steep masl. The views are breath-taking! If you prefer easier terrain, we recommend the North Sea Trails that you will find all along the Fjordcoast.
If you like fishing you should try your luck getting a nice catch. There is no better dinner than fresh self fetched seafood. Go bicycling along easy, winding, narrow roads with little traffic and lots of nature. You can rent a bike most places. You should not miss going to the beach whilst you are here. Enjoy beach life on our paradise beaches the white sandy beaches Grotlesanden and Vetvika in Bremanger.
The Vikings lived in this area. Learn more about them and visit cradle of democracy, Gulatinget in Gulen or the Mill Stone park in Hyllestad.
In the summer you can join in on a guided tour from Florø to Kinn Island, one of Norway’s oldest pilgrimages. You can also visit our lighthouses. Utvær is the westernmost lighthouse in Norway. Experience the fishing village Kalvåg or the charming town Florø. In Florø you can for example join a guided tour at Kinn Brewery or visit the coastal museum.
