The village of Askvoll is the administrative centre of the municipality of Askvoll in Sogn & Fjordane. It is located at the mainland in the municipality that stretches from Bulandet in the west to Førde at east. In Askvoll you will find a bank, pharmacy, dentist, veterinarian and several shops.

The Norwegian Seabird Centre is located at Værøyhamna. The exhibition at Norwegian Seabird Center shows that the fate of man is tied together with the fate of the seabirds along the coast of Norway.
Walking and hiking
In Askvoll you will find spectacular walking and hiking trails. Belgja (1304 masl) is the highest peak in the area. From the top you can see all the way to Jostedalsbreen and the 7 mountains surrounding Bergen 100 km in distance. Alden, also knowned as “the Norwegian horse”, is one of the most significant sailingmarks on the western coast of Norway. The mountain rises straight out of the ocean 481 m above sea level and is visible from more than a 100 km away. From the top you can enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view.
