Utvær

Utvær is Norway´s westernmost island group with the country´s westernmost lighthouse. It boats both historical significance and captivating natural surroundings. In the summer you can join a lighthouse safari to Utvær. Here you´ll follow the North Sea Trail around the island with a guide. Along the way, you´ll see remains of the chapel that was moved in 1718 and marks where stones were used to sharpen swords. You will also have a chance to go up the lighthouse and enjoy the stunning view!

Island hopping to Solund, Bulandet and Værlandet is a trip to the westernmost islands in Norway. Traveling by the local post boat you will get close to the unique scenery and the everyday life of the people living on islands. The local mail boat takes you on a guided tour among these islands. Keep your eyes open and your camera ready during the trip - spotting wilf life like the while tailed eagle, seal and otter is a common sight in the area. The boat makes a stop at the historical trade post Gåsvær, a small island far out at sea. Here you will meet Anne Marie - a local farmer, politician and tourist host.
Biking

There are great conditions for cycling in Solund. Take your bike on island hopping. Cycling on low-traffic roads that invite to good nature and cycling experiences. Ferries and boats transport you between the islands and are an experience itself. Cycle north along the idyllic Liasundet. Pass the idyllic hamlets and head to the "sunset bench" located right by the road. Here you can see the sun go down into the Lågøyfjord. From Hardbakke you can cycle to Daløy and take the charming ferry to Haldorsneset. From Haldorsneset you can cycle north to Ytrøy where Solund Mat is located. Take the trip back to Hjønnevåg and have lunch at the restaurant. The restaurant is open in summertime.
Pollatinden

Pollatinden is the second highest mountain in Solund and is referred to as the Queen of the archipelago. The mountain rises 641 meters above sea level and offers fantastic view of the westernmost islands in Norway. The trip is moderately demanding with a steep climb on mountains. The tour takes approximately 2-3 hours round trip.
The North Sea Trail

Get close to the beautiful nature in Solund. The trip on the North Sea Trail shows you the best of coastal nature near the ocean. Find peace as you hike untouched nature over colorful conglomerate mountains, along calm lakes and sheltered coves to the sound of the roar of the ocean. Fiske

Surrounded by open seas and fjords in Norway´s most beautiful archipelago, the conditions are perfect for sea fishing, all year round. Here you can fish for mackerel, saithe, cod, haddock, ling, crabs and crayfish. If you throw the line deep enough, you can also get halibut or anglerfish on the hook. There are several places where you can rent boats.
Sognesjøhytta - day trip cabin

Walk to Sognesjøhytta, south of Hardbakke. Enjoy a great view of the Sognesea, about 15 meters above sea level. The day trip cabin is a lowthreshold offer for hikers - a place to eat your packed lunch, get some warmth and read books. Near the cabin is a small wave where kayaks can easily dock.
Island hopping to Northern Solund

Take a round-trip to the many shall islands in Northern Solund. The boat trip starts from Hardbakke quay. The trip passes Kråkesundet before it has a stop on the island Buskøy. Here you will get a guided your in the old trading town. You will get insight in Buskøy´s history and the various activities that has been run in this old trading town. After the stop on Buskøy, the boat will continue through the small island communities before returning to Hardbakke.
Frisbeegolf and wildsheep safari

Combine physical activity, social interaction and the nature. Frisbeegolf is an increasingly popular activity, and in Solund you will find one of the country´s roughest courses. Frisbeegolf is played like regular golf, only here you use a frisbee instead of ball and club. In Solund you will find an 18-hole course. Along the way you can meet the local wild sheep that walk around the coastal drill.
