About
Take the express boat to Sollibotn, and cycle the short distance to Eivindvik, a small village with a great history. Close to the council house, you can take a cultural trail and learn more about the history of old Eivindvik, before you cycle further to the Gulating Millenium Site. The Gulating was an annual gathering where farmers from the whole coastline met in Gulen to discuss matters of taxes, building of roads and churches, military duties and judge in criminal cases. When the Gulating came toghether the first time, we do not know for sure, but it is certain that it was established about year 900. At the park you can see the monumental installations Tingveggen, Tinghella and Eldsirkelen, made by the artist Bård Breivik. You can also take a walk on the many paths in the park. One of them leading to a nice, little beach.
