About
Visit the saga island of Kinn and allow yourself to be captivated by the island, its medieval church and the beautiful scenery.
With great walks and easy access from Florø, Kinn is a popular year-round excursion. We recommend bringing food and water to Kinn since there is no grocery store and safe water sources on the island. Good footwear and wind and waterproof outerwear are recommended. Be prepared for all types of weather, even in summer. An extra set of clothes including a cap, a scarf, and mittens belong in your backpack.
A local boat sails from the coastal town of Florø out among islands and skerries to the saga island of Kinn. Once ashore, follow the road to the right to Kinn Church. The walk to the church takes approx. 30 minutes at a comfortable pace along a 1 km gravel road.
For a longer walk, you can walk around the island before returning to the quay to take the local boat back to Florø. From the church, it’s approx. 3 km around the island and back to the quay. Allow around 2 hours for the walk. It’s possible to stay the night in Kinn’s old schoolhouse, now operated by Flora Turlag. You can borrow the key at the tourist information office in Florø.
